Abierto Colombiana SF: Top Two Seeds To Meet In Final

The top two seeds will meet in the final of the Abierto Colombiana Club La Pradera, with Mexico’s Alfredo Avila and Colombian Ronald Palomino set for battle in Sunday’s final.

Avila came through his semi-final at the Challenger 5 level competition in four games, coming from behind to defeat Colombia’s No.7 seed Andres Herrera. He lost the first game 11-7, but battled back strongly to win the next three, dropping just eleven points across them, winning out after just 42 minutes of action.

He will now face Colombia’s Palomino in the final, after the No.2 seed downed Guatemala’s Alejandro Enriquez, in a match that followed the same pattern. The Colombian dropped the first game, but came back to win in four. Although it was slightly more difficult for Palomino, with the third being a tight 11-9, he came through to win in under an hour to move into the final.

The final of the Abierto Colombiana Club La Pradera will take place on Sunday, June 19 with Palomino and Avila doing battle for the Challenger 5 level crown in Cundinamarca, Colombia.
