#PSAWorldTour

Number one seed Sarah Cardwell romped to victory against qualifier Janelle Scobie in straight games to kickstart her bid to win the Mackay Open, PSA W5 title.

The Australian, who is gunning for a first PSA World Tour title since 2012, struck a barrage of attacking shots to take a comfortable 11-1, 11-1, 11-1 triumph.

Cardwell will meet Stephanie Wighton in the quarter-final after the latter defeated Samantha Calvert in four.

Five-time Mackay Open Champion Lisa Camilleri beat Taylor Jones in three and will now take on surprise package Anna Kimberley from England who stunned Lakeesha Rarere with a hard-fought 3-1 victory in just under an hour.

South African third seed Cheyna Tucker overcame a third game hiccup to beat qualifier Song Sun-Mi and will play number five seed Tong Tsz-Wing next.

Vanessa Chu, who has captured two PSA World Tour titles so far in 2015, defeated Sung Hee Oh to set up a match up with Jessica Turnbull after the Australian blitzed past Vicki Polley. Both players scored straightforward 3-0 wins and will contest an exciting-looking quarter-final fixture.
