TOC UPDATE: Rösner Romps Past Richards

Powerful German Simon Rösner got his 2016 PSA World Tour campaign off to start in the best possible fashion at the 2016 J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions in New York’s Grand Central Terminal today, dominating England’s Tom Richards to move into the second round courtesy of a 3-0 victory.

Rösner, who at 190cm is one of the tallest players on the circuit, moved with ease and grace as he controlled proceedings, hitting 21 outright winners, with a 11-1 scoreline in the third game highlighting his dominance on proceedings.

“I thought i moved very well today and I’m very happy to get the win in three especially because I went through a bad patch of form at the back end of last year so to start 2016 with a good performance and win is great,” said Rösner.

“The first match of the tournament is always taught but it was great to get my movement going and I’m looking forward to the next round.”
