Millie Tomlinson hits a backhand

Tomlinson Takes Edinburgh Open Title

#PSAWorldTour

England’s Mille Tomlinson captured her second PSA World Tour crown of the season after sweeping past German second seed Sina Wall in the final of the Edinburgh Sports Club Open with an impressive straight games triumph.

Tomlinson was irrepressible throughout the event and failed to drop a game as she roared to the title. Wall had also been in decent form up to the final, dropping just a single game to France’s Chloe Mesic in the last four.

23-year-old Tomlinson surged to a straightforward victory in game one after her superior court coverage and devastating drops enabled her to build up an 11-3 lead to go a game to the good.

Wall improved markedly in the second game and fought Tomlinson tooth and nail for supremacy but succumbed to an 11-7 defeat to go two games behind.

Tomlinson kept up her momentum in the third to wrap up the victory in just three games and earn her first PSA World Tour title of 2016.
