World No.17 Daryl Selby continued his perfect start to the 2016 UCS Swedish Open by advancing past Max Lee in straight games in Linköping – reaching the last four of a PSA M70 event for the first time in three years.
The Englishman battled to victory in a closely contested opening game that saw him edge ahead to claim an 11-9 triumph.
“He picked up so many balls in the third that I really didn’t think he was going to get back. It shows the professionalism, grit and determination that you face every time you step on court so all credit to Max.
“I felt like I played well. It was a bit of an attritional battle at times because Max’s technique and length doesn’t really give you much to play with. He plays really tight down the walls and he didn’t really give me much to feed off.
“I tried to step up the court and put pressure on him which I did well at times but, other times, there was nothing I could really do apart from try and play and tight like him.I thought my length was good so we’ll see what happens in the next round.”
