BritOpen Update: Serme Scythes Down Lust to Claim Quarter-Final Berth

#PSAWorldTour

Defending champion Camille Serme threw down the gauntlet to her fellow challengers for the prestigious 2016 Allam British Open crown as she produced a masterful performance in her second round win over England’s Victoria Lust in Hull’s Airco Arena.

The number five seed produced an array of sublime shots during the match, leaving Lust struggling to mount a challenge. While Lust remained valiant throughout, Serme was determined to put her opponent to the sword, racing into a 6-0 lead in the first – eventually closing the game out 11-5.

“I am just trying to focus on this year, and not focus on last year. I try to focus on each match and the tactics not the prestigious tournament.”

As for Lust, while she is disappointed to be eliminated from the tournament, she is happy with her progress throughout the season.

“I think I’ve had a good season so far,” she said.

“I think I’ve done well in the World Series events, I’ve made the top 16 at everyone but one, so for me it’s been a great season.”
