Malaysian number seven seed Eain Yow Ng overcame compatriot Mohd Syafiq Kamal in the semi-final of the Malaysian Squash Tour I, PSA M5 tournament to seal his place in only the second PSA World Tour final of his career.
The 18-year-old, who is ranked 187th in the world, fell behind twice in the match to an opponent ranked 28 place above him as he found the early stages of the encounter hard going.
However, at 2-1 down Ng dug in his heels and fought back with a vengeance, taking the victory by an 8-11, 11-5, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6 scoreline to progress to the final.
India’s Vikram Malhotra will meet him there after the 26-year-old reached a third final in four tournaments thanks to a commanding win against New Zealand’s Ben Grindrod.
