Teenager Ng Stuns Field to Reach Malaysian Tour Final

Unseeded 18-year-old Eain Yow Ng stunned a third successive seed to reach the final of the Malaysian Squash Tour II, PSA M5 tournament – to add to the runner-up finish he achieved on the first instalment of the Tour.

The World No.170 had already beaten top seed Carlos Cornes Ribadas and number five seed Valentino Bong to progress to the last four, where he came up against fellow Malaysian and three-time PSA World Tour title winner Addeen Idrakie.

Ng fell behind early on as Idrakie edged him to the first game by a narrow two-point margin. However, despite being four years younger than his compatriot, Ng pushed number three seed Idrakie hard and battled back with vigour to complete a fine comeback and secure a 9-11, 11-7, 11-2, 11-6 victory to see him through to a third PSA World Tour final.

World No.131 Elvinn Keo will face off with Ng in the final after the number four seed saw off Jordan’s Ahmad Al-Saraj, who was the only non-Malaysian left in the tournament, with a 3-1 triumph.
