The stars of the PSA World Tour are gearing up for the upcoming El Gouna International with the last PSA World Series tournament of the 2015/16 season set to begin in Egypt on Sunday April 24.
For those on the cusp of qualification for the Dubai PSA World Series Finals, the El Gouna International will represent their last chance of making it to the season-ending event with coveted points for the PSA Road to Dubai Standings, where only the top eight will qualify, there for the taking.

2015 El Gouna International Final: Ramy Ashour v Mohamed Elshorbagy
Home favourite Ramy Ashour came into the tournament after a five-month absence due to injury, while his final opponent, fellow Egyptian Mohamed Elshorbagy, had been one of the most dominant forces in the build up to the event, claiming the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions title three months previously, in addition to reaching the final of the Windy City Open the month before.
It was the duo’s first meeting since the 2014 World Championship final, dubbed by many to be one of the greatest matches of all time, and their titanic tussle in El Gouna did not disappoint with a stunning 94-minute encounter amazing fans around the world.
2015 El Gouna International Quarter-Final: Nick Matthew v Omar Mosaad
The hard-hitting ‘Hammer of Thor’ went up against ‘The Wolf’ Nick Matthew in this highly-competitive and punishing quarter-final fixture.
Mosaad, then ranked ninth in the world, took the opening game in surprise fashion, which forced Matthew to launch an all out assault as he looked to find his way back into the match.
2014 El Gouna International Final: Ramy Ashour v Mohamed Elshorbagy
Ashour and Elshorbagy were pitted against each other in another brutal final clash, which acted as a precursor to their World Championship final meeting seven months later.
A series of excellent rallies played out in front of a partizan crowd in yet another superb match between the two Egyptians.
2014 El Gouna International Semi-Final: Mohamed Elshorbagy v Gregory Gaultier
This clash between Elshorbagy and current World Champion Gregory Gaultier was a hugely mental battle with both players fighting for every single point in a gladiatorial 112-minute encounter.
The second game in particular showcased the never say die attitude and will to win of both competitors in a dramatic tie-break that Gaultier incredibly took 16-14.
2012 El Gouna International Quarter-Final: Karim Darwish v Mohamed Elshorbagy
Elshorbagy makes another appearance on our list, this time against former World No.1 Karim Darwish, who was the defending champion.
Experience met youth as the now retired Darwish looked to see of the threat of his younger compatriot.
