Argentinian qualifier Robertino Pezzota ended a one-year hiatus from the PSA World Tour by lifting the Decker Camiones & Canal 10 MDP TV Tour de las Americas – Mar del Plata Open, PSA M5 title with a stunning win over top seed Leandro Romiglio.

Pezzota didn’t drop a game en route to the final, with wins over Dairo Sandoval, Gonzalo Miranda and Edgar Zayas seeing him set up a final clash with World No.99 Romiglio.

Both players played a patient nature of squash in the opening game as they adopted an attritional style in an attempt to draw out errors from each other.

World No.451 Pezzota narrowly took the opener before engineering some breathing space for himself in the second to double his advantage.

An improved Romiglio clawed a game back in the third, but Pezzota came storming back a game later to close out an 11-9, 11-5, 6-11, 11-8 victory and capture a fourth PSA World Tour title in his last six tournaments.
