The season-ending PSA Dubai World Series Finals begins today, with the world’s greatest players set to battle it out for the prestigious title and a share of the record $160,000 purse – which is equal across both the Men’s and Women’s events for the first time in history.

Featuring only the top eight players who qualified on the PSA Road to Dubai Standings, the World Series Finals look set to showcase the best of what the PSA World Tour has to offer when the tournament gets under way.

To get you in the mood for a breathtaking week of action, we’ve included action from some of the finest World Series Finals matches from recent years below.

2013 Men’s PSA World Series Finals: Ramy Ashour v Mohamed ElShorbagy

Egyptian duo Ramy Ashour and Mohamed ElShorbagy have had a number of scintillating encounters in recent years and this clash between them in Richmond at the 2013 World Series Finals was no different.

ElShorbagy had beaten Ashour in the group stage earlier on in the tournament, so the then-World No.1 was out for revenge in the final.

2012 Women’s PSA World Series Finals: Nicol David v Laura Massaro

Eight-time World Champion Nicol David is the only woman ever to win the Women’s World Series Finals and she put on a real masterclass of a performance against England’s Laura Massaro in this final.

David may have been struggling for form over the past 12 months, but will be a real contender for the title if she can recapture her spell-binding display against the former World No.1.

2012 Men’s PSA World Series Finals: Amr Shabana v Nick Matthew

Amr ‘The Maestro’ Shabana met Nick ‘The Wolf’ Matthew in this clash that saw both players showcase their incredible strengths.

The mercurial talents of the Egyptian went up against the drive and determination of the Englishman in a highly-engaging affair.

2011 Women’s PSA World Series Finals: Nicol David v Madeline Perry

This final fixture between David and Ireland’s Madeline Perry saw the inaugural Women’s PSA World Series Finals draw to a close in exciting style.

At 34 years of age, Perry was looking to become the oldest ever winner of the tournament across both the Men’s and Women’s event. Could David, the then-World No.1 stop her?

2011 Men’s PSA World Series Finals: Amr Shabana v Gregory Gaultier

‘The Maestro’ makes his second appearance on our list, this time facing off against the ‘French General’ Gregory Gaultier.

Gaultier had defeated Shabana in the final of the 2008 World Series Finals and the Egyptian was out for revenge as he looked to lift his maiden World Series Finals crown.
