SquashXtra: Kit Bag - Eye Balls
Speed through the air, rebound height off the front wall, durability, height of bounce off the floor and texture must all come together in a delicate blend of rubber compound to produce a ball that compliments the dynamic demands of the sport – making it neither too easy nor too difficult.
We took the Eye Ball to the courts to see if it was Lord of the Bounce.

Eye Rackets – Eye Balls
Cost £24 p/dozen
Durability 4/5
Speed Through Air 2/5
Bounce Height 2/5
Perhaps the best named ball around – ‘Eye Balls’ – feel slightly heavier off the racket face in comparison to the likes of Dunlop’s industry standard setter and many other balls on the market.
The weight, along with a little added texture, allows greater purchase on short play – leading to increased feeing of control.
The ‘grip’ makes playing those delicate drop shots from mid court a joy but the added weight means that an extra punch is needed to find the perfect length drive when playing the long game.
The slight weight difference results in a lower bounce in the back corners compared to most other balls in the 2-dot market, meaning a well struck drive delivered a satisfactory winner but makes it extra difficult to play a continuos length rally.
