Host country Australia have claimed final berths in both the Men’s and Women’s events in the 2016 World Doubles Squash Championships taking place in Darwin.
Day Three Overview
Australian duo David Palmer and Zac Alexander sealed their places in the final after overcoming New Zealanders Paul Coll and Campbell Grayson by a 2-1 margin.
Palmer, along with compatriot Rachael Grinham, won the Mixed event back in 2004 and will be bidding to add a Men’s title to his collection when he and Alexander line up against Scotland’s Alan Clyne and Greg Lobban in the final.
Clyne and Lobban took on Australia’s number one team consisting of World No.14 Cameron Pilley and World No.16 Ryan Cuskelly and came out on top to claim a maiden final appearance for Scotland.

Australia will also have a team in the final of the Women’s event after Grinham and Australian No.1 Donna Urquhart overcame India’s Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal Karthik.
Chinappa and Pallikal Karthik won gold in the 2014 Commonwealth Games Women’s Doubles event but were unable to repeat the form they displayed in that tournament, falling to a 2-0 defeat.
Joelle King and Amanda Lander-Murphy recorded a comfortable victory over Malaysian sisters Delia and Rachel Arnold in the other last four fixture, and they will head into their final encounter with Grinham and Urquhart having defeated the pair 2-0 in the pool stage.

There was better news for Pallikal Karthik in the Mixed event as she teamed up with Men’s World No.17 Saurav Ghosal to defeat Chinappa and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu in an all-Indian semi-final affair.
Chinappa and Sandhu built up a narrow one-game lead, but were pegged back by a strong response from Pallikal Karthik and Ghosal, who are the first Indians to ever reach the final of the Mixed event.
Elsewhere, Palmer and Urquhart were both denied a place in a second final after they lost out to Coll and King to ensure that New Zealand will go head-to-head with India for the title.
