El Hammamy Secures Texas Open Crown

Egyptian Karim El Hammamy secured the first PSA World Tour title of his career as he breezed past Indian Vikram Malhotra at the Segnatek Engineering Texas Open Squash Championship to claim the M10 title.

Despite being seeded fifth for the tournament El Hammamy, who won the 2013 World Junior Squash Championship, came through in straight games against number four Malhotra after defeating number two seed Eddie Charlton and number seven seed Christopher Binnie to reach the title-decider.

The 20-year-old World No.75 played with patience and precision, coming from behind in all three games, to see off Malhotra and claim his first silverware in 28 tournaments.
