Amanda Sobhy OUT Of British Open

American number one Amanda Sobhy has been ruled out of the upcoming Allam British Open after tearing her achilles tendon during the Ciudad de Floridablanca – an injury that prematurely ends the charismatic star’s season.

Sobhy’s teammate and American number two Olivia Blatchford now moves into the main draw automatically and will face Malaysian Nicol David in the first round in a repeat of the Ciudad de Floridablanca final – which David won in straight games.

England’s Alison Waters also moves up the draw to face Egyptian Salma Hany Ibrahim in one of the most compelling first round matches with Australian Donna Urquhart also moving up in the draw.
