India’s Saurav Ghosal and Switzerland’s Nicolas Mueller will contest the JSW Indian Squash Circuit CCI International final after they came through their respective semi-final matches.
World No.21 Ghosal kept home hopes alive as he battled from one game down against Egypt’s World No.20 Omar Mosaad to win 3-1 in 67 minutes.
The Egyptian established his dominance early in the game and took the first by an 11-5 margin, before Ghosal fought back to level the scores in the second. From then on the Indian pushed Mosaad into all four corners of the court before taking the upper hand to make the scores 2-1, before coming through a tight fourth to book his place in the final.
In the other semi-final, Switzerland’s World No.27 Mueller avoided an upset as he comfortably saw off tournament wildcard Ramit Tandon.

World No.201 Tandon had enjoyed a strong tournament to date, upsetting the seedings by knocking out Qatar’s Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi and then top seed Spain’s Borja Golan in the last round. Mueller, meanwhile, has also looked dominant on court, enjoying wins over Ammar Altamimi and Mazen Gamal.
The Swiss Rocket looked comfortable throughout his match with Tandon and utilised his experience to full effect to come through in straight games in just 32 minutes – meaning he has only dropped one game en route to the final.
The final will take place at 18:45 local time tomorrow.
