Rankings Correction Sees Elias Break Top 10 - Becoming first Peruvian Ever To Do So

Diego Elias has become the first Peruvian player ever – and only the second South American player – to break into the Men’s World Top 10 in the PSA World Rankings.

The two-time World Junior Champion enjoyed a fruitful start to his 2017/18 season, with impressive runs to the latter stages of the Oracle NetSuite Open, U.S. Open and Qatar Classic seeing him rise from No.24 at the start of 2017 to World No.12 in December – and rises to No.10 this month after an administrative error incorrectly placed him at No.11 when the rankings were published yesterday (January 1).

The movement means Elias moves ahead of New Zealand’s Paul Coll to complete a top ten that features six Egyptians, England’s Nick Matthew, German Simon Rösner and French World No.1 Gregory Gaultier.
