Kawy Withdraws from British Open

Egypt's former World No.4 Omneya Abdel Kawy has withdrawn from next week's Allam British Open.

Kawy ended a 15-month hiatus from the PSA World Tour – due to the birth of her son – last month when she lined up at the El Gouna International but will miss out on the chance to improve on her four quarter-final finishes at the sport's longest-running tournament.

As a result, compatriot Salma Hany moves up to the No.16 seeded position and will face a qualifier in round one, while 2007 World Champion Rachael Grinham moves into the main draw and will play World No.3 Nour El Tayeb.
