Yuen & Aribado Named PSA Players of the Month For June

Malaysia’s World No.64 Ivan Yuen and Philippines World No.81 Jemyca Aribado have been named the PSA Players of the Month for June.

Yuen, the 27-year-old from Penang, received the men’s accolade after enjoying two title wins during the month.

The Malaysian claimed both the Squashgym International Squash Classic and ILT & Community Trust NZ Southern Open titles, defeating both Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu and Rex Hedrick in the finals, respectively.

Yuen defeated top seed Sandhu by a 3-1 scoreline before securing his second successive title of the month in New Zealand as he defeated number two seed Hedrick 11-7, 7-11, 13-11, 11-8 in 76 minutes to capture his seventh and eighth PSA World Tour title, respectively.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Aribado was named the women’s Player of the Month after she made history by becoming the first player from the Philippines to win a PSA World Tour title.

The World No.81 secured her maiden PSA World Tour title at the Squashgym International Squash Classic when she defeated New Zealand’s World No.122 Emma Millar in the final.

Aribado knocked out tournament top seed Australia's Sarah Cardwell in the semi-finals before continuing to impress as she defeated Millar by an 11-9, 6-11, 11-7, 12-10 scoreline in 37 minutes to lift her maiden PSA World Tour title and make history in the process.
