Ashour Withdraws from Oracle NetSuite Open

Egypt’s three-time World Champion Ramy Ashour has withdrawn from the upcoming Oracle NetSuite Open, PSA World Tour Gold tournament due to a knee injury.

Ashour, the World No.9, had been in line to make his first appearance of the season after injury disrupted his 2017/18 campaign, but his knee problem means that he will miss out on the chance to lift a third Oracle NetSuite Open title.

Ashour’s withdrawal means that Peru’s World No.11 Diego Elias moves up to the No.8 seeded position and now receives a bye into the second round, while World No.34 Mazen Hesham will now play tournament wildcard Charlie Johnson.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Ryan Cuskelly will play England's Nathan Lake.
