New Zealand’s Joelle King and Egypt’s Youssef Ibrahim have been named the women’s and men’s PSA Players of the Month, respectively, for November.
King secured the biggest title of her career and her first PSA Platinum title at last month’s Hong Kong Open when she upset the seedings to defeat World No.1 Raneem El Welily in the final.
The Kiwi has endured a tough start to the season but ensured that all her hard work came to fruition in Hong Kong when she played some of her best squash to eliminate the likes of Egypt’s World No.3 Nour El Tayeb and England’s Sarah-Jane Perry en route to the final.
In the final she came up against reigning World Champion El Welily – who became World No.1 on December 1 – where she put in a dominant performance to see off the Egyptian in straight-games, including a tightly contested third game.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim has enjoyed a purple patch of form throughout November, claiming an impressive three titles and defeating the top seed in the final at all three events.
The Egyptian claimed victories at the CIB Wadi Degla Squash Tournament, Swiss Open and Romanian Open.
As well as winning the titles, Ibrahim also secured his place at February’s PSA World Championships after winning the Romanian Open – which was a PSA World Championships qualifier event – when he defeated top seed Spain’s Bernat Jaume in the final.
