England’s former World No.1 Laura Massaro claimed her 23rd PSA title as she defeated Welsh World No.9 Tesni Evans in the final of the Monte Carlo Squash Classic.
Massaro and Evans have met twice previously on the PSA Tour with each player taking a victory apiece, however, the Welshwoman did claim the last victory to send Massaro out in round two at the PSA World Championships.
The Englishwoman made sure that wasn’t the case in Monaco though as she powered to victory in a tight five-game battle at the Monaco Squash Club.
Massaro twice took the lead, with Evans fighting back both times to force the match to a tense decider, where the experienced Englishwoman was able to power home to claim an 11-9, 11-13, 11-9, 7-11, 11-3 victory in 68 minutes at the PSA Challenger Tour event.
 Laura Massaro (ENG) bt Tesni Evans (WAL) 3-2: 11-9, 11-13, 11-9, 7-11, 11-3 (68m)
