Fares Dessouky in action against Karim El Hammamy

Top Seeds Prevail to Reach CCI International Semi-Finals

All of the remaining top seeds prevailed to reach the semi-finals of the CCI International PSA Silver tournament, after India’s World No.12 Saurav Ghosal was forced to pull out earlier in the day.

Ghosal – who won the title last year – withdrew following a calf injury sustained yesterday and was supposed to face compatriot Ramit Tandon, leaving the Indian with a walkover into the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, top seed Tarek Momen axed Spain’s Iker Pajares Bernabeu – who recorded an upset over ‘Swiss Rocket’ Nicolas Mueller yesterday – in four games to reach the semi-finals in Mumbai, where he will now face the remaining home hope, Tandon.

Elsewhere, Egypt’s Fares Dessouky continued his strong return to the PSA World Tour after a 14-month injury lay-off as he defeated compatriot Karim El Hammamy in straight-games.

The Egyptian will now face former World No.1 James Willstrop for a place in the final after he overcame India’s Mahesh Mangaonkar, who impressed in a straight-games win over number two seed Marwan ElShorbagy yesterday.

You will be able to watch live streaming on the tournament’s YouTube channel.
