Retiring David to Speak at Women’s Leadership Luncheon in Chicago

Malaysia’s eight-time World Champion Nicol David will be one of a number of high-profile women speaking at the Windy City Open Women’s Leadership Award Luncheon in Chicago on February 27.

The WCO Award Committee and JP Morgan Chase will be presenting a panel discussion: Speaking Out for Success – Success stories from Women in Sport and Business with the award celebrating and promoting influential women squash players and athletes who are leaders in all facets of their professional and athletic lives.

David recently announced her plans to retire at the end of this season after winning an incredible 81 PSA titles, including eight World Championship titles, and will sit alongside a panel which includes some big names in business and sport.

Panellists will include:
Janet Hanson: an American financer and founder of 85 Broads – a global network community of 30,000 women. In 1986 she became the first woman to be promoted to sales management of Goldman Sachs.

Betsy Zeigler: the first female CEO of 1871 and former Chief Innovation Officer at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Sybil Smith: the first African American female swimmer to be named a first-team Division 1 All American. She went 80-0 at Boston University and has a Ph.D. in Education. Her daughter, Sloane Stephens, is a professional tennis player and winner of the 2017 US Open.

The luncheon will be held at the University Club of Chicago – one of the venues for the PSA World Championships.
