Reigning J.P. Morgan China Squash Open champion Mohamed Abouelghar has withdrawn from the 2019 edition of the PSA Gold event, after a shoulder injury has forced him out.
The World No.7 was due to make his first appearance of the season in the 2019-2020 World Tour curtain-raiser, a year on from winning the event.
His spot in the draw will be taken up by compatriot Marwan ElShorbagy, while Mohamed ElSherbini moves into the draw to face Hong Kong’s Tsz Fung Yip in the first round in Shanghai.
The J.P. Morgan China Squash Open takes place between September 4-8 at the Peninsula Shanghai and will be the first tournament of the new PSA World Tour season.
