The fourth day’s play of the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions takes place today, as the action continues across New York City.
Day four will see the women’s second round come to its conclusion, while the men’s third round gets underway, with another nine matches on the glass court at Grand Central Terminal. Three matches will be played at the River Club, the last clashes on side courts this week.
There are three intriguing battles at the River Club today, with Sabrina Sobhy taking on No.15 seed Victoria Lust, with the younger of the Sobhy sisters looking to avenge Amanda’s defeat to Emily Whitlock on Saturday evening.
Also at the River Club, Nadine Shahin and Salma Hany face off in an all-Egyptian clash, while Joshna Chinappa takes on Tinne Gilis of Belgium.
Gilis’ older sister Nele is in action at the glass court on day four, facing off against England No.1 Sarah-Jane Perry in the final match of the evening. Julianne Courtice also flies the English flag, as she faces New Zealand No.1 Joelle King.
Also in the remainder of the women’s second round, Egyptian seeds Nour El Sherbini and Nour El Tayeb are in action, as they look to advance to the last 16, while the day’s play begins with Tesni Evans against Olivia Blatchford Clyne.
In the men’s third round, three of the top five are in action, in Ali Farag, Tarek Momen and Paul Coll. The other men’s match features Gregory Gaultier, on his stunning return to the PSA World Tour, as he faces Mostafa Asal.
