Along with action from the Motor City Open this week, there are also four PSA Challenger Tour events taking place, ranging from Pakistan to Canada.
There are two PSA Challenger 20 events, along with two PSA Challenger 10 tournaments that conclude this weekend, with three male and one female tournament.
14th CNS International Squash Championship
The first event of the week is the 14th CNS International Squash Championship, which takes place in Karachi, Pakistan, beginning on Tuesday, February 4.
It is a Challenger 20 tournament, and will feature mainly Asian players, along with a few Egyptians and a Frenchman. 24 players will take part, with the top eight seeds coming into the draw at the second round stage.
Malaysia’s Ivan Yuen is the top seed for the event, but No.2 seed Tayyab Aslam will be looking to take the title on home soil, as well as aiming for a third successive title on the Tour, following wins at the Serena Huawei Pakistan International Squash Tournament and the 13th DG Rangers Sindh Squash Championship.
The Racquet Club Pro-Series
The sole women’s event of the week also begins on Tuesday, with the Racquet Club Pro-Series 2020 taking place in St. Louis in the United States, with 24 players looking to take home the title.
No.2 seed Olivia Fiechter will be aiming to win on American soil once more, as she took home the E.M. Noll Classic crown on Sunday evening, while top seed Hollie Naughton is featuring in her first PSA Challenger Tour event since this time last year, when she played at the Gaynor Cup in Cincinnati.
Life Time Atlanta Open
The second event of the week to be held in the United States comes from Sandy Springs, as the Challenger 10 Life Time Atlanta Open begins on Wednesday, February 5.
24 players will take part in the tournament, with a whopping 15 nationalities featuring, seven of which come across the eight seeds in the event.
Top seed Juan Camilo Vargas is aiming to reach a second final in 2020, having finished runner-up at the Airport Squash & Fitness Challenger in January, while Japan’s Tomotaka Endo has reached the final of his last two events.
Linear Logistics Bankers Hall Club Pro-Am
The final event of the week is the Linear Logistics Bankers Hall Club Pro-Am, which begins on Wednesday, February 5 in Calgary, Canada.
16 players will feature, with top seed Leonel Cardenas aiming to retain the title he won in Calgary twelve months ago. Dimitri Steinmann, Emyr Evans and home favourite Shawn DeLierre are seeded to be his nearest challengers.
