Egyptian duo Tarek Momen and Raneem El Welily have been recognised by the Guinness World Records for becoming the first married couple in squash history to be crowned World Champions.
El Welily, the women's World No.1, captured her maiden PSA World Championship crown when she overcame fellow Egyptian Nour El Sherbini at the Manchester Central Complexion Complex in December 2017.
Momen joined his wife in lifting the sport's most prestigious title when he got the better of New Zealand's Paul Coll in Doha, Qatar in November 2019.
Momen is the reigning World Champion and will look to defend his crown when the World Championships return to Chicago in February 2021. El Welily will also feature as she looks to recover from defeat to El Sherbini in front of the Great Pyramid of Giza in November. It will be squash's second $1,000,000 event, with prize money split evenly between the men's and women's events.
