World Tour Finals: How To Watch Day One LIVE

The opening day’s play of the CIB PSA World Tour Finals takes place today, as the group stages of the season-ending tournament get underway at the Mall of Arabia in Cairo.

There will be six matches tonight as the group stages begin, with the eight players in the respective draws split into two groups. There will be 24 group matches across the opening four days of the tournament.

The opening day sees Egypt take on the rest of the world, with all six matches featuring a player from the African nation. Reigning four-time World Champion Nour El Sherbini makes her return to the court following injury when she starts things off against New Zealand No.1 Joelle King.

The other match in Group A will feature Nouran Gohar, who will play her first competitive match on the PSA World Tour since becoming World No.1 tonight, when she faces Sarah-Jane Perry. The other women’s match will see Nour El Tayeb play Amanda Sobhy, in the only clash in Group B.

No.1 seed Ali Farag will face Simon Rösner in the opening clash of Group A in the men’s draw, with last week’s beaten Manchester Open finalist, Karim Abdel Gawad, also in action. The ‘Baby-Faced Assassin’ will do battle with Peru’s Diego Elias, who is making his long-awaited return to the tour, after missing last week’s tournament.

The final match of the event will see World Champion Tarek Momen take on Welsh No.1 Joel Makin in the first game in Group B. The Egyptian is the No.2 seed for the tournament, while the ‘Golden Tiger’ is making his first appearance at the season-ending tournament.
