The sixth day’s play of the CIB Egyptian Open takes place today, as the quarter-finals come to a conclusion in front of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The Pyramids provide the stunning backdrop for this week’s event, the first Platinum tournament since the return of professional squash following the six-month enforced suspension of the PSA World Tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and there has been some epic squash so far in the event!
The four-time World Champion will kick things off tonight, as Nour El Sherbini takes on Indian No.1 Joshna Chinappa for a place in the semi-finals. The winner of that clash will face either Nour El Tayeb, the winner of the Manchester Open, or Salma Hany, in the last four.
The first men’s quarter-final this evening sees CIB PSA World Tour Finals champion Marwan ElShorbagy face Mazen Hesham in an all-Egyptian clash. The winner of that match will take on the victor of the final battle of the evening, where World Champion Tarek Momen will take on Peruvian World No.6 Diego Elias.
