Egypt’s World No.35 Youssef Ibrahim and Switzerland’s World No.80 Ambre Allinckx have been named the PSA Players of the Month for November.
Ibrahim – then No.41 in the world – stunned the squash world when he overcame former World No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy in the third round of the Qatar Classic PSA Platinum event and put a halt to any plans the 29-year-old had of regaining his No.1 spot in 2020.
The two Egyptians played out a five-game thriller in Doha, but it was Ibrahim who came out on top before narrowly missing out on a place in the semi-finals of the event with another five-game epic, this time against Fares Dessouky.
It was Ibrahim’s best run at a Platinum event and has cemented him as one of the players to watch on the men’s tour.
Meanwhile, Allinckx claimed her maiden PSA title at the Liechtenstein Open on the PSA Challenger Tour.

The Swiss player was the No.3 seed at the event and overcame higher seeded compatriot Nadia Pfister in the semi-finals before beating No.4 seed Celine Walser in straight-games in the final to lift the title alongside countryman Nicolas Mueller, who won the men’s event.
Other big performers last month were Ali Farag, who retained his Qatar Classic title and will now see out the year as World No.1 after beating New Zealand’s Paul Coll in the final.
Ryosei Kobayashi, Farkas Balazs and Tayyab Aslam also all enjoyed wins on the Challenger Tour with Kobayashi and Balazs now claiming two titles in a row. Meanwhile, Amna Fayyaz was victorious on the women’s Challenger Tour with a title win at the BISL International.
