World class squash descends on Cairo, Egypt this week when the CIB Black Ball Squash Open takes place from DATE with action LIVE on SquashTV, as well as broadcasters around the world and the official Facebook page of the PSA World Tour (excluding Europe and Japan).
This will be a unique event on the PSA World Tour, with the entire tournament lasting twelve days. The first six days will see the women’s event played, before the men’s draw follow in the second week of action.
The women’s draw is led by World No.1 Nour El Sherbini, who is still looking for at first title at the Black Ball Sporting Club in her illustrious career. Nouran Gohar and French No.1 Camille Serme will also be among the main contenders for the PSA Gold level title.
Defending champion Hania El Hammamy, who was the World No.10 in March when she claimed the title, will be the No.4 seed time round, and is in the same side of the draw as the World No.1. The likes of England’s Sarah-Jane Perry, USA No.1 Amanda Sobhy, Kiwi No.1 Joelle King and Welshwoman Tesni Evans will also be aiming to be in the hunt come the latter stages of the tournament.
The men’s draw will follow on after the women’s event, and will begin on Sunday, December 13, with World No.1 Ali Farag being the top seed for the tournament. Defending champion Karim Abdel Gawad, who won the title in 2018, and World Champion Tarek Momen will also be aiming to win on home soil.
New Zealand’s World No.4 Paul Coll, Peruvian No.1 Diego Elias, Germany’s Simon Rösner, ‘Colombian Cannonball’ Miguel Rodriguez and Welsh No.1 Joel Makin are the other men who will have a top eight seeding to their name for the tournament in Cairo.
Coverage from the CIB Black Ball Squash Open begins at 11:00 (GMT+2) on Monday, December 7 when round one action of the women’s tournament begins.
