Challenger Tour Weekly Preview: Action From France & Czech Republic

There are two events on the Challenger Tour this week, with both coming from continental Europe. There will be action from the Czech Republic and France over the course of the next seven days.

There will be a women’s event in Creteil, and a men’s tournament in Prague. Both events will feature cross-border participation due to restrictions in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Czech Pro Series 2
The first tournament of the week begins on Wednesday, with the Czech Pro Series 2 taking place at Squasclub Strahov in Prague.

The Challenger 10 level event has allowed players currently residing in Austria, Germany, Poland and Slovakia, along with host nation Czech Republic, to play in the tournament.

Five nationalities will be presented, with Daniel Mekbib, the Czech No.1, as the top seed. Austrian No.1 Aqeel Rehman will also feature, along with players from England, Germany and the Netherlands.

The event will be live-streamed from Squasclub Strahov, with all the action LIVE on the PSA Challenger Tour YouTube channel.

Codep94 Val de Marne International
The women’s event comes from Creteil, France, with the Codep94 Val de Marne International being a Challenger 10 level tournament starting on Friday.

Like the Czech Pro Series event, this tournament also features cross-border participation, with players residing in Andorra, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Spain, Switzerland allowed to enter.

There will be four different nationalities in the top four seeds for the event, with Frenchwoman Enora Villard as the top seed. Latvia’s Ineta Mackevica, Czech No.1 Anna Serme and Switzerland’s Nadia Pfister will also be fighting for glory.
