Heroes Graz Open: El Sirty Claims Fifth Crown of 2021

Egypt’s Moustafa El Sirty took victory at the Heroes Graz Open in Austria earlier today, to claim his fifth title of the year, the most by any male on Tour so far in 2021.

El Sirty came into the tournament, held at Heroes Squash-Bar in Graz, as the No.5 seed, and the young Egyptian received a bye through to the second round of the Challenger 10 level tournament.

The World No.67 started his campaign with a win over Czech Republic’s Marek Panacek, before needing to go the distance to down No.4 seed Henry Leung in the quarter-finals.

El Sirty then took on a second Hongkonger, beating Tsz Kwan Lau in straight games to make it through to the final, where he came up against compatriot Yahya Elnawasany.

He needed just 39 minutes to take victory in the final on Sunday afternoon in Austria, adding the Heroes Graz Open title to the other four victories he has tallied so far in 2021.
