Sportwerk Women’s Open: Tournament Preview

The first women’s event of the week will be the Sportwerk Women’s Open, which will take place in Hamburg, Germany, from Thursday 9 through to Sunday 12 December.

Dutchwoman Milou van der Heijden will be the top seed for the Challenger 10 level tournament, and she will face competition from compatriot Tessa ter Sluis, Frenchwoman Enora Villard and Latvian No.1 Ineta Mackevica, with those all among the top four seeds.

France’s Marie Stephan, Spain’s Cristina Gomez, Englishwoman Lily Taylor and Scotland’s Georgia Adderley make up the rest of the top eight seeds, with the tournament featuring 13 nationalities in total.

The likes of New Zealand’s Kaitlyn Watts, Denmark’s Klara Moller and Czech Republic’s Eva Fertekova join a trio of home hopes, in Saskia Beinhard, Katerina Tycova and Aylin Gunsav, in the draw.
