Kennedy - who began the year as World No.164 - ended a fantastic 2021 in style, reaching the CIB Squash Open Black Ball semi final.

Kennedy and Coll Named PSA World Tour Players of the Month for December

England's Georgina Kennedy and New Zealand's Paul Coll have been named the respective women’s and men’s PSA World Tour Player of the Month for December.

24-year-old Kennedy capped off an astounding 2021 by making the semi finals of the CIB Squash Open Black Ball. Going into the tournament ranked World No.25 – having begun the year as World No.164 – Kennedy knocked out Lucy Turmel in the first round and downed No.4 seed and defending Gold Black Ball champion Sarah-Jane Perry 3-0 in round two.

Kennedy then beat Farida Mohamed 3-0 in the quarter final, before ultimately losing out to World No.1 Nour El Sherbini in the semi final, with the Egyptian claiming a hard-fought 3-0 win.

Kennedy's run was rewarded with a jump to World No.17 for January's rankings.

World No.2 Paul Coll continued his bid for the No.1 spot with his third tournament win of the season at the CIB Squash Open Black Ball, earning back-to-back Gold wins after capturing the Canary Wharf Classic title the previous month.

The 29-year-old beat Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez in the second round and was behind in the quarter final against Joel Makin before an injury forced the Welshman to retire.

The Kiwi then comfortably beat No.5 seed Marwan ElShorbagy 3-0 in the semi final before producing an excellent performance in the final to beat World No.1 Ali Farag 3-0 in 61m.
