Odense Open: How To Watch Day One Live

The Odense Open gets underway today, with play beginning at the first of four qualifying events for the 2021-2022 PSA World Championships in Cairo later this year.

Play will begin from 14:00 (GMT+1) live from Odense with both courts available to watch live. Action from the glass court will be shown live on SQUASHTV, brought to you by the new Squash TV Lite kit, while Court 5 will be shown live on the Odense Squash Club’s YouTube channel.

Seven of the eight matches on the glass court will feature home representation, in a Danish-heavy day in Odense. Marcus Søby Jepsen gets things started with the opening match of the tournament, up against Germany’s World No.95 Yannik Omlor.

Three of the Danish wildcards will take on New Zealand opposition on the opening day. Sarah Lauridsen will take on Kaitlyn Watts, while Tobias Fritz Well and Magnus Nørtoft Laursen face Lwamba and Temwa Chileshe, respectively.

Four other European nations will be in action on the glass court, with Welshman Emyr Evans, Spain’s Marta Dominguez Fernandez, Portugal’s Sofia Aveiro Pita and Frenchwoman Taba Taghavi all taking to the court on the opening day.

Court 5 will also see eight matches on the first day of the competition, with English representation in four of those, as Katie Malliff, Ben Smith, Katie Wells and Saran Nghiem all in action. Germany’s Saskia Beinhard and Norwegian Andrea Fjellgaard get the action underway on the side cuts in Odense.
