Life Time Atlanta Open SF: Al Tamimi and Romiglio Into Final

After surprises galore throughout the week at Life Time Athletic Sandy Springs, it was the two higher seeded players that were victorious in the semi-finals on Saturday evening, with Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi and Leandro Romiglio advancing to the final.

The Qatari No.1 is the top seed for the tournament, and he has to come from behind in his semi-final against home favourite Timothy Brownell, after the American had won the first game 11-9.

From that point on though, it was Al Tamimi who took control of the match, with his movement being a key to the victory. He won the second 11-6, and carried that momentum through the next two games to win in four and move through to the final.

He will meet Argentina’s Leandro Romiglio in that final on Sunday, after the tournament’s No.6 seed overcame Guatemalan No.1 Josue Enriquez in straight games. The first was close, with the Argentinian winning it 11-9, but from then on, he was in cruise control, going on to win 3-0.

The final of the Challenger 10 level Life Time Atlanta Open will take place on Sunday afternoon at the Life Time Athletic Sandy Springs.
