English teenager Lucy Turmel has broke onto the PSA World Tour scene, and has already made it into the top 50 of the World Rankings.
Turmel won just the third tournament she made the main draw of, as she beat Deon Saffery in the 2017 Barcelona Open. That was followed up with a victory at the TRAC Oil & Gas North of Scotland Open in 2018, where she beat compatriot Kace Bartley.?
The Englishwoman also had a hat-trick of runner-up finishes in the year, losing out to Alex Fuller in the final of the Christchurch Veterinary Surgery Ipswich Open and the Karakal Bangor Classic, before then just missing out on the Alliance Fabricating Ltd. Simon Warder Memorial Prostate Cancer Open.
She then reached the semi finals of both the London Open, her last tournament of 2018, and the Calgary CFO Consulting Services PSA Women’s Squash Week in 2019. Turmel took her third title on the PSA World Tour as she beat Melissa Alves to lift the Springfield Scottish Open trophy.
Thanks to her performances, the young starlet broke into the top 50 of the World Rankings for the first time in June 2019.
