After a slow start to her career, Ambre Allinckx has catapulted herself up the rankings in her final years as a teenager, and is now challenging for the Swiss No.1 spot.
Allinckx made her debut on Tour in 2016, but had to wait two years before she got her first win in the main draw of an event, as she broke into the last 16 of the Internazionali D’Italia in 2018.
After not playing for over a year, the Swiss star came back to reach the semi-finals of the Savcor Finnish Open, before the Tour was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Allinckx played twice in 2020 when the Tour returned, and won both events. She won both the Liechtenstein Open and the Sihltal Classic to move inside the top 70 in the World Rankings, and push for the Swiss top spot.
