Lwamba Chileshe is following in the footsteps of Ross Norman and Paul Coll, and broke into the top 100 of the World Rankings for the first time in 2021.
His first appearance in the main draw of a tournament came in 2018, at the Squashgym International Squash Classic. A year later, he made his first quarter final on Tour at the same event, before reaching a first semi-final later in 2019, at the Coverstaff Recruitment Squash XL Open.
After only playing in two tournaments on the Tour in 2020, the Kiwi started the year after in the best possible fashion, with a victory at the Morrinsville Open. He defeated younger brother Temwa to claim his maiden Tour title, and the first of two in the calendar year.
He reached the semis of the Waikato Open and the Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Open, whilst also making it to the final of the Panmure Tecnifibre Open before taking another victory, this time at the Northland Open, where once again he defeated his younger sibling in the final.
