Chan Sin Yuk is another member of the world’s top 100 from Hong Kong, and also one of those born in the 21st Century.
Her career started slowly, and included a couple of appearances in the qualifying rounds of the Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Open, before reaching the quarter finals of the Contrex Challenger Cup on the Challenger Tour in 2018.
After a year-long break, mainly due to the Tour’s suspension for the COVID-19 pandemic, Yuk came back strongly, and reached the semi-finals of the Chairman Cup, before then going on to claim her maiden Tour title at the Chairman Cup 2, beating Vanessa Chu in the final.
The Hongkonger then won again on home soil, taking the title at the Hong Kong Football Club PSA, before going to the United States and winning a third consecutive tournament. She defeated Finland’s Emilia Soini to take the Hamilton Open crown. Thanks to those three wins, she moved inside the world’s top 80 for the first time at the end of 2021.
