Salma Youssef is another in a long list of Egyptians pushing to break the top 50 in the World Rankings.
She joined the Tour at the start of 2017, and only had to wait a year before she took her first victory. Youssef got the better of compatriot Menna Nasser to win the Lagos International Squash Classic. She then went on to reach the semis at both the Assore. Balwin Gauteng Open and the Chamberlain Squash Open.
A string of last eight results came in 2018 and 2019, including at the Racquet Club Pro-Series and the JC Women’s Open, along with semi-final appearances at the Growthpoint S.A. Open and the Delhi Leg of the HCL SRFI Indian Tour.
Youssef broke into the top 60 for the first time in the early part of 2020, but only featured three times on the Tour that year, mainly due to the six-month suspension of the Tour due to COVID-19. Reaching the last 16 of the Racquet Club Pro-Series was her best result of the year.
