Yahya Elnawasany is part of a very small group of players born in 2002, and he is already pushing to break inside the world’s top 50 at such a young age.
He made the semi-finals of his second event on Tour, which came in the early part of 2019. That result came at the Paraguay Open on the Tour De Las Americas. He followed it up later that year by reaching the final of the CIB Port Said - Egyptian Tour 2.
A first appearance in a Platinum level tournament came shortly after that at the CIB Egyptian Open, before he also made the final of the Romanian Open and the CIB Egyptian Tour 3 at the end of 2019. Having just turned 18 years of age, he then claimed his first professional title, winning the CIB Egyptian Tour 4.
That first victory opened the floodgates for Elnawasany, who went on to win four times in 2021, starting with the Egyptian Challenger Tour #2, where he defeated friend and rival Moustafa El Sirty in the final. He beat the same opponent in the final of the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour 3 later in the year as well.
Along with a string of other quarter final and semi-final appearances, the young Egyptian finished off his year in the perfect way, winning both the QSF 3 and QSF 4 in Doha, to take his tally of titles to five come the end of 2021.
