Spain’s Carlos Cornes RIbadas has represented his nation at the highest level of the sport, and has found individual success along the way as well.
His career began in 2007, but he had to wait seven years before he reached his first final on Tour. That came at the Rotterdam Open in 2014, where he lost out to Lucas Serme in the final.
A string of quarter-final appearances followed, before he reached the semi-finals of the PSA Valencia Open on home soil. That was quickly followed by another trip to the last four, this time at the Trac Oil & Gas North of Scotland Open.
Cornes Grabbed his first victory as a professional in 2016, winning the Seapiax Open Lorient, thanks to a victory over compatriot Iker Pajares Bernabeu in the final. Two more wins quickly followed, as he also claimed the 4th Open Squash Provence Chateau-Arnoux and ASB Prague Squash Classic titles later that year.
The Spaniard went almost two years without making a final, before winning consecutive titles at the Contrex Challenge Cup and the Pure Blonde Elanora Open in 2018. He also reached the semi-finals of the Gibraltar Open, WLJ Capital Boston Open, Kolkata International and Brussels Open that year, along with making the final of the Airport Squash & Fitness - Airport Xmas Challenger.
More semi-final appearances came the next year, before he claimed another two wins. Cornes lifted the trophies at the China Suqian International Squash Classic and the PSA Valencia Open in 2019, with the latter being his most recent exploit on the Tour to date.
