Alfredo Avila is one of the leading Mexican's on the PSA World Tour and turned professional in 2008.
He lifted his first PSA World Tour title in 2010 at the Florida State Open and won his fifth title at the same tournament three years later.
The Mexican had a strong start to 2015 and picked up the Manitoba Open crown in March 2015.
His first PSA M50 title came with a stunning victory in August’s Abierto Colombiano de Squash Club El Nogal where he upset four seeded players, including Saurav Ghosal, in the final.
Avila’s victory in Colombia was the catalyst for a meteoric rise in the World Rankings and he soared into the top 40 in the world the following month.
Quarter-final finishes at the Bluenose Classic and Edmonton Open helped to consolidate his position there.
Avila followed this up in 2016 with a semi-final finish at the Edmonton Open before going onto win his next tournament at the Salt Lake City Open when he beat Todd Harrity in straight games to capture his first PSA World Tour title in over a year.
