After a slow start to life on the PSA World Tour, Ben Coleman surged into life during 2014 and picked up his first four titles.
The first came at the Scotland Open in April 2014 with three more following before the year was up. He captured his fifth PSA World Tour crown at the Atlanta Open at the beginning of 2015. Victory at the Salt Lake City Open in October of that year then sent Coleman into the world’s top 60 for the first time in his career the following month.
He began 2016 by picking up another PSA World Tour title. Coleman claimed victory over Shawn Delierre in straight games at the Bankers Hall Club Pro Am. Later on in the year, the Englishman lifted his second title of the year at the Courtcare Open when he downed 2013 World Junior Champion Karim El Hammamy in straight games, to ensure that he did not drop a game throughout the whole tournament.
A runner-up finish followed in 2017 at the Manitoba Open when he was beaten to the title by Arturo Salazar but the Englishman was able to break into the world’s top 50 for the first time in his career later on in the year as his World Ranking continued to go from strength-to-strength.
He won the Open International Niort Venise Verte at the end of the year, along with quarter-final appearances at the London Open and Nash Cup, before reaching the final of the Three Rivers Capital Pittsburgh Open at the start of 2018.
Simpson reached the last four at the Irish Squash Open later that year, as well as making the last 16 of the CCI International. He finished runner-up at the Arnold Homes Tring Open in 2019, before reaching the semis of the Open International Niort Venise Verte once again.
After appearing just three times on Tour in 2020, Coleman started 2021 with a bang, as he made the final of the Sumner Malik Memorial before then claiming a 10th PSA Tour title, winning the Berkhamsted Linksap Open after beating compatriot Sam Todd in the final. He also made it to the semis of the London Open at the end of the year.
