Karim El Hammamy joined the PSA World Tour in 2011 but had to wait five years until he reached his first PSA World Tour final.
El Hammamy made his first final appearance in 2016 at the Arab Federation Open and then at the Coutrcare Open where he finished runner-up at both tournaments.
The Egyptian went onto win his maiden PSA World Tour title at the Texas Open Squash Championship when he breezed past Indian Vikram Malhotra to claim the first Tour title of his career.
El Hammamy then finished runner-up at the PSA Valencia losing out to Mazen Gamal over four games, leading the Egyptian to break into the world’s top 60 for the first time in his career in 2017.
