Alister Walker represented England in the World and European Championships before switching his international allegiance to Botswana, the country of his birth.
He earned his maiden PSA World Tour title at 2003’s V Open Int. D'Squash Esportiu Rocafort-St Anton but had to wait until 2011 to capture his first PSA M25 title after a 3-0 victory over Yasir Ali Butt. after previously breaking into the top 15 in the world rankings in August 2009.
Walker made his first appearance for Botswana in February 2013 and made history by winning the country’s first gold medal in an international squash event, beating Zambian Kelvin Ndhlovu in the Men’s Individual All-Africa title.
2013 was a successful year in general for Walker as the Botswanan tasted victory at the PSA M35 Grasshopper Cup in Switzerland after beating Daryl Selby in a marathon 102 minute final.
Walker’s sole PSA World Tour Title in 2014 was the Charlottesville Open, a title which he claimed after a hard-fought tussle with Lucas Serme in the final.
The Botswanan claimed a quarter-final berth at the Northern Ontario Open in April 2015 but met defeat to Ryan Cuskelly in four games.
Six months later, Walker dropped out of the world’s top 30 for the first time in seven years.
