Amanda Landers-Murphy is New Zealand’s No.2 female squash player and has been in and around the world’s top 50 for the last seven years.
The Kiwi picked up her first Tour title at the New South Wales Open in 2011 and she continued her prolific form in Australia by picking up the South Australian Open in 2012. The Hitachi Queensland Open title followed later that year before her fifth Tour crown came at the Australia Day Challenge where she bested Liu Tsz-Ling in the final.
The Kiwi claimed her first PSA Challenger 10 title at the NT Open in May 2015 to round off a strong season. She then made the semi finals of both the New Zealand International Classic and the Invercargill Licensing Trust New Zealand Southern Open that year as well.
2016 saw the Kiwi win three consecutive tournaments in three weeks. Landers-Murphy won the Queensland Open, Mackay Open and the Pacific Toyota Cairns Squash International. She also then won twice in the early part of 2017, continuing her good form. The Gibson O’Connor North Shore Open and Matamata Open were won by the Kiwi, who also finished runner-up at the Victorian Open as well.
Landers-Murphy won the London Open at the end of 2017, but could only manage a single semi final appearance throughout the whole of 2018, with that coming at the Irish Squash Open in April.
She also reached the quarter finals of the Salt Lake City Open, Calgary CFO Consulting Services PSA Women’s Squash Week and Queclink HKFC PSA International tournaments, before making the semi finals of the Irish Open for a second straight year in 2019.
